Country genre presentation

The Presentation 

In this presentation we have have talked about the country music genre which was the genre that was given to us. There was a number of topics that we have included in the video including: 

- Where country music generated from
- How it developed over generations
- Examples of artists
- Target audience 
- Music videos
- Definitions

The reason why we have talked about music videos is because that relates to the course we will do in the future and it gives us a wider understanding of what music videos are like in different genres. 

Above, there is a picture of our group presenting. The members of the group included me, Jordan and Kiji. In this blog I plan to analyse each slide of the presentation and what we have found out during the research of the genre. While we were presenting each of us has read a slide in a order. All three of us has read 2 slides each so it was equal and we all put in the same amount of effort.  For the layout of this presentation we have tried to represent the atmosphere of the countryside to create a more natural feel to the presentation. Moreover this layout backs up the vibe you get when listening to country music. 

Slide 1:

In this slide we have introduced the basics of the country music genre. For example what is actually is and what music instruments it`s originated from. We have made this slide for people who never heard of country music or never heard a country song. This slide is supposed to be introduction to the presentation. The points made in this slide sum up some of the other slides in a more understandable way so its more likely people will understand it . 

Slide 2:

This is the shortest and most straight-to-the point slide. In this slide we give examples of what kind of people listen to country music by showing who the target audience is. Below the target audience we have included 3 different types of artists in the country music genre. They are different types of artists because Johnny Cash is a older artists whereas Dolly Parton is a more current artist. Taylor Swift on the other hand is a fusion of pop and country music.

Slide 3:

In the third slide we have presented about the origins of country music. This includes where country music was born and where it`s originally from. In the first bullet point we have also said what type of people it was invented by. We have said what type genres and sounds have influenced the birth of this music genre. To be more accurate, we have also included the name of the exact place where it was born and its nickname. Moreover when it was born. 

Slide 4:

Slide for was the most important slide as it detailed the different characteristics of country music videos. This slide detailed story lines, deeper meanings, visuals and other stereotypes of the music videos. We have done this so if people see a music video with these characteristics they will know it`s a country music video. This was the most important slide on the presentation because music videos are what the course is about therefore, with this research we could look deeper into this genres music video. 

Slide 5:

In this slide we have simply listed some of the most famous country songs that people might recognize. We have also given some details and background about it so people will know how critically acclaimed the songs are.  We have also named the song that made country music famous. We have also included the cover art for these two songs so even if they haven`t heard the song they might recognise the cover. 

Slide 6: 

In the last slide we have included information about the different generations of country music. Country music ran through 6 generations that we have included the time scale for. We have also briefly mentioned what country music is like today and what it`s influenced by. To make this presentation more formal and professional we have included a introduction and outro slide. 

Throughout the whole presentation we have used pictures to create a country vibe and we have kept the font consistent to make it look professional.
